It’s finally the new year. Happy new year to everyone, and best wishes.
It was an exciting 2005, no doubt. The devastating Hurrican Katrina, the death Pope John Paul II, the Live 8 concert, controversy and more controversy. I think 2005 will go down in history as a year of many firsts for Malaysia - one after the other, a whole slew of news items hitting home domestically. Petrol price rises, the AP issue, the year in which Proton’s doom seemed imminent…
It’s been a year of great friendships formed, also. With luthien and zero, with colleagues and friends I thought I didn’t have where I stay, being for the most part an exile. It’s been a year of awakenings as well. For two years, wrestling with the truths I was told, and then realizing my real worth in the larger scheme of things.
It’s been a rough ride, but you live and learn, I suppose.
