It’s here again! Articles of interest abound! Heh.. ok, so most Malaysians won’t bother reading this stuff, but the carnival’s been going on for some time now, bringing together quite a number of great contributors from the blogosphere (hateful word) each time. Some interesting articles I’m reading:
- Pete Mandik has a lively discussion going on around his contribution on some pretty interesting objections to mind-body dualism. To put it succintly, he examines if dualists can offer a means to distinguish between essentially disembodied minds which are qualitatively identical. Well, I can’t tell if a me-you-and-him is an ‘I’, either!
- Pejar’s posted a very interesting, and highly relevant in the light of recent events in Malaysian cyberspace, post on ethical theorizing and consistency in the same. What’s interesting is his argument on the role of logic/consistency as a tool for the promulgation of one’s ethical beliefs. Maybe MENJ should read this article…!
- I’m still working through Ross Cameron’s post on truthmaker neccessitarianism, but it looks like he’s constructed a fairly robust reductio(s) against arguments about what entails a sufficient truthmaker for propositions, “p”. Still working on it, still working on it..
If you like focused, constructive mangling of the English language, there are more articles over at this carnival’s site. :)
