You know, I’ve just finished reading Badawi’s 90 minute speech off of the Prime Minister’s Office website over here. You should read it too. It’s a glorious speech, with impassioned pleas and stern warnings. It’s a speech designed to show off Lord Badawi as the enlightened sovereign that he is. The speech is chock-full of wisdom, insights and unmitigated bullshit.
(I think Khairy might have written that speech. It’s just a suspicion.)
*Sigh*
I survey the blogs that covered the PM’s speech and I see such a bundle of energy. How do you people do it? I myself just grew tired of the drama. Hishamuddin does his grand-standing. Again, as usual, copious amounts of blood promised for challenging Malay rights and Islam. Khairy stands by and applauds. UMNO Youth delegates tell the Chinese and Indians (but mostly the Chinese, lah) to fuck off and die. Lim Kit Siang, in the meantime, laments the lack of respect UMNO has for parliament.
Uh, huh.
Then the PM takes the stage; the peacemaker walks in an delivers a wordy coup, “taming the unruly UMNO Youth”, “ticking off coalition partners” and shamelessly equating the goals of UMNO with the goals of BN. It’s like a mass wedding, you know. The sort of weddings the Sun Moon Cult organize regularly…
On cue… all brides will cry and then wipe single sparkling tear with hankie.
On cue… all grooms go to their knees and pledge something in incomprehensible Korean.
On cue… all grooms devour willing brides’ lips.
UMNO General Assembly:
On cue… UMNO Youth screams bloody murder in the name of Malays and Islam.
On cue… the general public gets unsettled.
On cue… enter Badawi, mantle of wisdom draped across his shoulders; his eyes shooting beams of light and shining with wisdom; and his bearing regal, like you know he’s gonna reference himself with the royal “We”. Badawi lays the gentle smackdown on UMNO Youth’s antics, quells the worries of the public, pledges more effort to fight corruption and makes national unity a priority - as long as it’s the UMNO way.
The public cheer and applaud. The rest of us scratch our heads, wondering. Still others are trying to figure out how to capitalize on such FOLLY.
Me, I’m wondering how much the Malaysian people are willing to put up with, still.

The Chinese and Indians really should fuck off and die.
Can continue to vote for the same MCA scums of gangsters and triads even after getting shortchanged years after years.
Malaysians deserve the government they voted for.
*Yawn
eh, the assembly of buffoons over dee or not?
the assembly is just a big fat khenduri makan sambil tengok sandiwara of even more clueless politikus. even the keris replica also gets all karat dee…
In the communion of thousands of participants from a single community whose only objective and desire is to bleed the nation for their own selfish purpose and greed, what do we expect the rhetorics to be? Sad? No! Known-knowns.
It’s Byzantine theatrics, I say.
Protagonist1 Dr M won.
Protagonist2 Pak Lah won.
Rakyat: No win, no loss. It hardly matters.
Malay, Chinese, Indian –da silent majority? — are all mere spectators to the anual Sandiwara. We paid RM600million so that each of the 219 UMNO division chiefs can laught their way to the bank.
There must be a Vote of No-Confidence from Malaysian electorate at sexrt GE!
Or isit the “silent majority” are so masochistic steal, and elegantly silent, in compliance with the “sovereign” PM?
PS: Xpyre minus da d: You bestowed Him “sovereign” — can Desi ask queitly for a Tonne?
like Zero likes to say: same difference.
i’m wondering if things will ever change.
