Life would be so much easier if we didn’t have to live with degenerate, misogynist idiots talking through their asses. The Malaysian blogosphere’s in an uproar, naturally, because our Cabinet Minister Tengku Adnan (check this out: our fecking Tourism Minister) decided to:
- Declare 80% of bloggers women…
- And 100% of bloggers stupid and unemployed
Or some such statistic. The true figure escapes me. But you know what gets my proverbial goat? It’s not the fact that Tengku Adnan isn’t fit for a Cabinet Post, much less a position cleaning latrines, etc. It’s not the fact that he belongs to an increasingly isolated, outdated, outmoded circle of jerks who think having a penis makes them superior. Oh, no.
What worries me is that the Cabinet is full of such men.
It worries me that these men who sit in Cabinet are probably the same men who think rape is the woman’s fault, who spend endless hours deliberating over hemlines and the plunge of a woman’s neckline, who feel the only education women need is in cookery and housework, and who feel having a penis is a man’s license to act like an incompetent, intemperate brute. In public.
If the discussion in parliament some months back over the uniform of air stewardesses is anything to go by, I’d say Malaysians have been consistently voting in these chauvinists year after year - which should make you wonder what said Malaysians see in these fellows. Or worse, if these fellows are reflections of Malaysian men (and women) at large!

Well, if he does, then he’s being consistent - though a consistent brute. If he doesn’t, then he’s not only being inconsistent, but also hypocritical. Tengku Adnan should apologize, unreservedly.
