Damn, two weeks is a long time to be away from the blogging world, but it’s been a good two weeks. Sometimes a break is necessary, isn’t it? Great books aren’t helping, either. So, what have I been up to? Heh heh….
- In case you’ve not caught on, Twitter’s like a disease, a cancer and a craze the likes of which only Man is capable of manufacturing… and I’m using the new Twitbox client. Check it out! (But requires .NET 2.0, which is a free download from Microsoft, so..). If you do twitter, my profile’s here. :)
- Any Conan fans out there? I mean Conan the Cimmerian, of course. I used to read Conan stories when I in Primary school, and they were my most prized possessions (besides my LOTR collection). Somewhere along the way, my mum threw my two books away (Conan the Usurper and Conan the Avenger.. sigh). Well, if you’ve always wanted to read the original Conan the Barbarian stories written by Rob E. Howard, you can find them on Project Gutenberg Australia, here. Just look for “Robert Ervin Howard” entry. :)
- Been shuttling between reading Hemingway’s ‘For whom the bell tolls’ and Samuel Butler’s translation of ‘The Illiad’ (from gutenberg.org). For some reason, both the human and divine fallability and hubris in the Illiad sits well with the tragedy of the Spanish civil war.
- G4, the tech channel that ass-raped TechTV and the Screensavers, have acquired TWiT! Say it isn’t so! Hehhehehee….
- I got this from Lifehacker: check out Netvibes. It’s much better than the google pages I’ve been using, and it’s hosted online, so you can load up your own start page at home or at work. It’s cool.
Btw, I’ve picked up an annoying habit: I tend to multi-task when I’m on the computer at home (and.. um.. at work, too). So now as I’m blogging this, I’m websurfing, watching Conan the Destroyer :O , and twittering. Heh. It’s not good, but I can’t just focus on doing one thing at the time - too many things to do. Do you multi-task too?
