acting everything

No Chief Justice but acting Chief Justice. If the government keeps this up, we’ll have acting everybody and everything. And you know what they say about actors, don’t you? Actors are supposed to get up on stage, say their lines and then exit stage left. (Actors who tend to improvise never last that long.)

According to Rocky’s Bru, Datuk Abdul Hamid Mohammad was one of three judges who overthrew the sodomy charge against Anwar Ibrahim. That makes me wonder if Datuk Abdul Hamid is a compromise rather than a serious step in the right direction.

And I wonder also if Datuk Abdul Hamid was the natural choice for the government. Is he a peace-offering to the Bar Council? I wonder, but then I’m far too paranoid to make any clear judgments about this decision.

In the meantime, lawyers get arrested for standing up to authorities hell-bent on demolishing a national treasure - yes, a national treasure, though I’m sure no one’s seen fit to label a 100 year old Hindu temple one.

Demolish for what? Urban renewal? Urban development? I don’t quite know. You’d think the authorities would’ve been more careful after the ruckus over previous incidences of temples mowed down willy-nilly.

They’ve not learned, apparently.

And then there’s our friend Samy Vellu stepping in to champion the Indian cause. I hope Indians don’t fall for it yet again. Haven’t Indians had enough false flags stuff down their throats?
